FSSP Mission Statement

Using the ancient liturgy as our well-spring, we form our priests in the traditions of the Church to serve at the altar and in the parish so that the fullness of Christ might enter the emptiness of the world.

St. Michael the Archangel Parish is an apostolate of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP). As such we share the mission of the FSSP by bringing to life the traditions and customs of ancient liturgy and the Catholic faith.

Parish registration is easy. Complete the parish census card which can be found in the vestibule and return it to the Rectory or drop it in the collection basket. Welcome to St. Michael the Archangel parish!

Please ensure that you are aware of the duties and obligations of our parishioners contained in our Parish Manual before joining the parish.

The Parish priority is to deepen the devotion of its members to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Therefore attendance at First Friday and First Saturday devotions and Mass is highly recommended.

The Consecration of the parish to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is made twice a year on the Feasts of the Sacred Heart (Sunday after 28th June) and Christ the King (Last Sunday in October).

We also encourage all parishioners to participate in our Rosary Procession (Nearest Sunday to 7th October) and our Eucharist Procession (Feast of Christ the King).

The Rosary is publicly recited after the weekday Masses for the needs of the parish and after Mass on First Saturdays for an end to abortion.

The parish also chooses to use the more ancient form for its Holy Week liturgies also known as the pre-1955 Holy Week.

As a parish of the Diocese operated by the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter your parish registration data is provided to the Diocese of Scranton and the FSSP. As such upon joining the parish you will receive information about the FSSP and a subscription to the FSSP monthly publication Memento.
